10 Web trends to watch in 2010, source: http://bit.ly/6N0vU8
just a short advice not to miss the recent column from peter cashmore on cnn about the web trends for 2010. peter is the founder of well know social media blog mashable and definatley knows about what he is talking. here are his trends:
- real-time ramps up (always connected iphones, google wave, …)
- location, location, location (gowalla, brightkite, … let the world know where you are)
- augmented reality (where did i park the car?)
- content ‘curation’ (everything that helps against information overload – filter, filter, filter – social filter?)
- cloud computing (of course … buzzword of 2009 – but wait for google chrome)
- internet tv and movies (broadband prepared the ground, now the services can come)
- convergence conundrum (do standalone gps devices, ipod, flip video cameras, ebook-reader meet their demise?)
- social gaming (zynga’s FarmVille game on facebook counts more active users than twitter)
- mobile payments (finally breakthrough because of smartphone adoption)
- fame abundance, privacy scarcity (ongoing voluntary erosion of privacy)
